Aim of the course: Provides a solid foundation and understanding of basic signal processing and some insights into its applications in the field of medical technology.

• Integration/differentiation simple circuits, causal systems
• Fourier Trafo as transfer fct. properties of FT
• FT of elementary signals, windowed cosine fct
• Energy signals, AutoCorrelationFunction, CrossCF, correlation
• Time and frequency discrete sampling, time discrete signals
• LSI-systems, time discrete FT, ACF, CCF, sampling, decimation, down and upsampling
• FIR and IIR Filter, Wavelet
• FFT, zero-padding etc…

Case studies :

• X-ray-radon transform
• Ultrasound
• heart-EEG, averaging and amplifiers
• hearing-cochlea implant MST
• brain-EEG, pacemaker
• peripherals - functional electro stimulation , EIT
• chemical paths, hormones-insulin pump
• vision - artificial eye, MST and bio-compatibility
