Requirements for Admission

Applicants to the Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering in Luebeck must have a university or university of applied sciences degree (e.g. Bachelor's Degree) in one of the following areas:

Additionally, applicants with a master's degree in a comparable field can also be enrolled in this program.

The required minimum length of your previous bachelor's program (not your personal length of study!) must be 7 semesters (3.5 years).

Applicants from non English speaking countries must prove their English language proficiency. They should have an international certificate such as TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge Advanced Cetrificate. For details refer to Application procedure: proof of the English profiency.

PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who hold only a degree in medical sciences (MD) or a degree in business sciences (economics) without a second technical degree do not fulfill the requirements to apply to this master's program.

Applicants are admitted to the program by a committee decision, as well as their grades and length of study from their first technical degree.

The committee may ask applicants to participate in an interview in order to help them make their final decision.

Since all bachelor's degrees are not equivalent worldwide, the decision to admit applicants will be made on a case-by-case basis.
