There are several different kinds of supermarkets around the University of Luebeck and the University of Applied Sciences campuses that might be important to know during the first days after arriving in Luebeck:

• Moenkhof-Karee (Hochschulstadtteil, Geniner Str.)
  
• Wirth-Center (Ratzeburger Allee)
  
• REWE (Moenkhofer Weg).

Generally, there are supermarkets such as EDEKA, SKY or REWE as well as discounters such as ALDI, Penny or LIDL that are located all over the city.
Please be aware that supermarkets usually close at 8pm (exceptions: Penny/ REWE at 10pm, REAL at midnight); they are not open on Sundays (exception: in touristical areas such as the Baltic Sea).

• via car: motorway "A1" (towards Puttgarden/ Fehmarn, Daenemark (Denmark) and Hamburg) and "A20" (towards Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)
• via train: Deutsche Bahn Railway stations in Luebeck: "Luebeck Hauptbahnhof" (main station) and "Luebeck St. Juergen"
• via plane from Luebeck: airport Blankensee, Luebeck, Flights to London, Stockholm, or Pisa
• via plane from Hamburg: airport Hamburg
• via bus: for example the BerlinLinienBus which is often a cheaper alternative to the train for students.
